Valliant’s Tayler Trapp – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Pine Cellular

Valliant High School sophomore Tayler Trapp did what a lot of students do in the eighth grade, she joined the FFA after some encouragement from a teacher. “I have been a FFA member for two years,” said Trapp. “My eighth-grade math teacher Mrs. Wall encouraged me to join when they needed an extra girl for the trap shooting team.”

Trapp jumped in feet first and has loved every minute of it. From working on projects to meeting new people, FFA has provided her with opportunities to learn new things. “The thing I enjoy most is working on projects in the greenhouse and around the shop,” said Trapp. “I compete in shooting sports (skeet and trap), I am the FFA Secretary for our chapter, and I give speeches.”

The sophomore is also a member of the varsity softball team at Valliant High School. As a pitcher, Trapp knows what it takes to succeed. She believes her teammates have the work ethic to be successful. “I love the work ethic through the whole team. Several times this year we have battled back from being behind and came back and won working until the very last play,” said Trapp.

Also a member of National Honor Society, Trapp said she wants to go to college after high school and eventually become a teacher.

Away from school and sports, Trapp said she enjoys spending time with family and friends. “I like to spend my free time with my family, going to church and checking on my chickens,” said Trapp. “My mom and dad have always worked with me and encouraged me in whatever I have done so I could be the best I could be at what I do. They love me even when I mess up or play bad and they have always helped me through the toughest moments.”
