Stonewall’s Kayden Alford – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma Ag Credit

Stonewall High School sophomore Kayden Alford is a member of the varsity softball and cheer teams as well as a member of the FFA chapter at school.

Alford first got involved in the 4-H Club when she was in the fourth grade. Thanks to the encouragement of her parents, Alford is now a member of the FFA chapter.

“I am adopted so my adopted parents first encouraged me to try it out then I fell in love with it,” said Alford. “I enjoy the people and how much our world is involved in agricultural and how much we use it and don’t even see it.”

Every FFA chapter has plenty for its members to be involved in and Stonewall FFA is no different. Alford is showing animals, serving in an FFA office, and working in veterinarian science.

“I am involved in vet science, and as a sophomore I am the Vice President officer for my chapter which is fun. I also show goats,” said Alford.

Alford is active in her church and is part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at school. Being a member of softball and cheer has been a great experience for Alford.

“I love getting to experience the wins and loses with my team we have all learning so much about each other,” said Alford. “I love my teammates because there are family.”

The sophomore said a member of her family has played a big role in her life and influenced her in a positive way.

“My dad has been a big influence in my life is because I am just closer to him in so many ways. I am closer to him because I can talk to him about FFA and what I want, and he just understands better than my mom. He is also very understanding on how I think and we kind of have the same idea in a lot of Ag related things,” said Alford.

Alford offers this advice to anyone who wants to join an FFA chapter.

“Always take an opportunity that is given to you so if Ag or FFA is an option to take at your school then take it because you will never know how much you will get out of it and how much you will learn,” said Alford.
