Wright City Lumberjax Basketball Preview 2021 – Presented By Pine Cellular

BOYS

Coach: Joel Dickerson

20-21 Record: 17-9

After losing several key players from last year’s team, Wright City head coach Joel Dickerson knows he has his work cut out for him. “The Jax are going to be depending on inexperienced players to step into big roles this year,” says Dickerson. While he has some inexperienced players on the roster, he does have three seniors he will rely on to provide experience and leadership. Braylen Threadgill (5-9, Sr.) is one of those seniors and Dickerson says he is a quick guard that can get to the rim with his great first step. Alex Bowen (5-9, Sr.) and Brian Williams (6-1, Sr.) are the two other seniors Dickerson will rely heavily on this season. Kase Lindly (5-9, Fr.) is a lights out shooter that Dickerson is excited to watch on the floor this season. Other players expected to contribute for the Lumberjax are Kellen Lindly (5-9, Jr.), Alex Roath (5-10, Jr.), Ceato Liscano (6-0, Jr.), Conner Green (6-3, So.), Joseph Vance (6-5, So.), Clancy Trapp (5-9, So.), and Rayner Beene (5-8, Fr.).

GIRLS

Coach: Misty Haley

20-21 Record: 14-9

With key players returning to this year’s squad, Misty Haley is understandably excited about her Wright City Lumberjax. “We have a young team that gained a lot of experience last year,” Haley says. “I have high expectations for the upcoming season and are returning my three leading scorers and leading rebounder.” Madison Carter (6-0, Jr.) is Wright City’s leading returning scorer after averaging 17.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game last season. “Madison is an excellent shooter who is a complete player,” says Haley. Briley Walker (6-0, Jr.) is back as well after averaging 9.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. “Briley is one of our leading scorers and rebounders and spends a lot of extra time in the gym,” says Haley. Ali Gibson (5-9, Soph) is an underclassman Haley is excited to see improve after averaging 8.1 points per game last year. “Ali is a smart player and good outside shooter,” says Haley. Other players expected to contribute for Wright City are Shalan Haley (5-1, So.), Emma Hobbs (5-9, So.), Kinsley Scrivner (5-7, So.), Braileigh Threadgill (5-8, Fr.), McKenlie Miller (5-3, Fr.), Kyree Donaldson (5-4, Fr.), and Raynie Tom (5-1, Fr.).
