Broken Bow’s Landon Cathey – FFA Spotlight – Oklahoma Ag Credit

When Landon Cathey of Broken Bow High School first joined his FFA chapter, he was only a freshman. Now a senior and a member of the varsity football team, Cathey is looking forward to getting back on the football field and returning for another year in FFA.

Thanks to the encouragement of his friends, Cathey decided to join FFA and see what it was about. He realized there are many different opportunities for students like himself to participate in.

“What I enjoy most about FFA is it just fits me and feels like home,” said Cathey. “I shoot skeet in FFA.”

As a student-athlete Cathey understands the challenges that come with balancing a busy schedule. From being a member of the football and baseball teams to FFA, Cathey finds the time to make it all work. He said anyone looking to expand their high school experience should look into FFA.

“I would say, join it, because you never know if you will like something until you do it,” said Cathey.

During the course of his high school career, several people have helped him along the way including his sister.

“My sister has been a big influence growing up. She went through a lot and helped raise me and she is a great person who will be there when I need her,” said Cathey.

The senior is looking forward to playing football with his teammates. The Broken Bow football team has a strong bond and Cathey plays a big part in the team’s success.

“At the moment I am doing a little bit of everything for the team. On offense I am starting center and on defense I play nose guard, inside and outside linebacker and I also punt,” said Cathey.
