Atoka Football Spotlight – Noah Sherrill – Presented by Stuteville Ford

Atoka High School linebacker Noah Sherrill is everything you want in a senior. Atoka head coach Jacob Cupp had great things to say about his senior.

“Noah, on top of being an outstanding linebacker, carries himself with great integrity and sportsmanship. He demonstrates high character values while being a leader in the school as well as being active at the local First Baptist Church,” said coach Cupp.

Sherrill has played an important role for the team this season. Not just on the field, but in the locker room as well. Being around his teammates is where Sherrill thrives.

“What I love most about my team and teammates are the friendships we have. A lot of us have played together since first grade so we all share a close bond. I think we all understand what it takes to be successful,” said Sherrill.

A two-way player for Atoka, Sherrill splits time between linebacker on defense and tight-end on offense. When the lights come on, Sherrill is ready to play.

“What I enjoy most about Friday night is running out of the tunnel and seeing the whole town there supporting you,” said Sherrill.

Sherrill excels in the classroom as well.

“My favorite subject is math. My favorite teacher is Mrs. Carr because she truly cares about us and you can tell she wants us to be successful in life,” said Sherrill.

Between his studies and football, Sherrill doesn’t have a lot of free time, but when he does, he knows exactly how to spend it.

“I don’t have a lot of free time but when I do, I love hanging out with my friends, going to church, and being involved in anything going on in our town,” said Sherrill.

His plans for the future include college and one day owning his own business.

“I plan to go to college to further my athletic and academic career. I want to get a bachelor’s degree in business administration and hopefully run my own business one day,” Sherrill said.
