Kayden Bean has played the game of softball for quite some time. She currently plays shortstop for the Valliant Lady Dawgs. Throuhgut her career, she has had some people that have made an impact on her and helped shape her into the athlete that she is today.

“Some of my biggest influences are Jocelyn Alo and Janae Jefferson,” she said. “They are both great players that I look up to. My parents have been influences for my life. They are very supportive and push me to be my best. I’d also like to add one of my influences would be Misty Haley. Growing up she was my coach and also the mom of my good friend Shalan Haley. She always demanded the best out of us and knew our potential even when we didn’t.”

Kayden, who goes by KK, is a senior at Valliant High School. She is a member of the Native American Arts, is listed on the honor roll, and ranks in the top ten percent of her class.

Throughout her career, Bean has invested a lot of time and effort into becoming the best that she can be. She is thankful for those around her that help her stay motivated.

“In order to be successful in softball, it’s taken a lot of time hard work and discipline,” KK said. “I’ve had to push myself beyond my limits to be a better player. I’ve always loved the game and I have great teammates and coaches and we motivate each other to be better.”

There have been a lot of memories made by Bean and her teammates along the way. She says that there are a couple of memorable moments that she will remember for a while.

“The highlight moment of my career was when I hit for the cycle,” she said. “It was sophomore year and we were playing at Holdenville. It was the first game of the season and I went four for four. Another big moment would have to be when we beat Tishomingo in district play this season. They have always had great pitching and a solid defense, so it was a really solid win.”

Since she is in her senior year, KK has her eyes on the future and what she will do after graduation.

“My plans after graduation are to attend Murray State College and play softball for the Aggies.”
