Coach: Christie Jennings
21-22 Record: 21-6
Last season the Lady Cougars had a fantastic season finishing with a 21-6 record. This year head coach Christie Jennings embarks on her 11th season leading the Lady Cougars and said that this year’s team will be full of youth and experience which she is excited to see come together and produce on the court. Sania Richardson (5-5, So.) had a great freshman showing and proved to be one of the best guards in the state. In her first year in high school competition Richardson averaged 21.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. Coaches cannot wait to see how Richardson continues to develop as she already has an incredible basketball IQ so early into her career.
Niireene Riley (5-8, Sr.) is the lone senior for the Lady Cougars this season but will provide a veteran presence along with several juniors. Ada happily welcomes back Makaviaya Nelson (5-5, Jr.) who returns from injury and is looking to make an impact. Jamieson Emarthle (5-9, Jr.) provides a post presence and averaged 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 points per game a season ago along with Jakobi Williams (5-9, Jr.) who averaged 4.7 points and 3.0 rebounds.
Guard Abbey Strong (5-3, Jr.) had all around contributions with averages of 2.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. Rylynn Truett (5-8, Jr.), Karysn Woods (5-7, So.), and Marissa Johnson (5-4, So.) will fill out the backcourt for the Lady Cougars with Tyley Dotson (6-1, Jr.) and Grayce Dotson (6-0, Jr.) playing in the post. Lady Cougar assistant coaches include Shelby Davis, Jeremy Davis, and Menee Thomsen.
