Broken Bow’s Tyrin Tinajero is Ready to Compete this Basketball Season- Presented by Broken Bow Dentistry

Tyrin Tinajero is a sophomore guard for the Broken Bow Savages and has been playing basketball since he was old enough to dribble a ball.

“I started playing when I was three,” Tinajero said. “My favorite thing about basketball is winning, working hard, and competing with anyone or any team we play.”

Tinajero enjoys all the opportunities that the game provides for him both on and off the court. He likes to be challenged and challenging himself to constantly improve. One player that has inspired Tinajero is Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry.

“My favorite player is Stephen Curry because he can create his own shot and get to the rim,” Tinajero said.

Head coach of the Savages Ryan Woolsey sees some similarities between Tinajero and his idol. “He’s a very gifted offensive player. Although he isn’t the biggest, he can score from all three levels,” Woolsey said.

Tinajero is always working to improve and seeks advice from influential people in his life and takes their words to heart. The best advice Tinajero has received was from a relative, Taylor Skieens.

“He told me ‘How hard you work is the only thing you can control. You are responsible for how people remember you – or don’t. So don’t take the process lightly.”

As the season gets underway Tinajero is looking forward to competing night in and out. He said he is most excited for the Savage Classic.

“I’m ready to prove I’ve got what it takes to be great and to compete,” Tinajero said.

After high school Tinajero said he would like the opportunity to continue his basketball career at the next level and wants to further his education in college by pursuing a degree in business.
