Wright City Lumberjax Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by Pine Cellular

BOYS
Coach: Joel Dickerson
21-22 Record: 16-11

What was a young squad last year for Wright City has matured and added some talented underclassmen which should help them dig deeper into the playoffs in 2022. The floor general for the ‘Jax is point guard Kase Lindly (5-9, So.). “Kase has an explosive offensive game, shooting better than 40 percent from beyond the arc while having the ability to attack the rim as well,” said veteran head coach Joel Dickerson. “Kase will turn heads his sophomore year and teams will take notice.” Wright City returns a pair of seniors that helped the program through a growing experience last year in Alex Roath (5-10) and Kellan Lindly (5-9). “Alex gets more from his talent than anybody I’ve ever coached,” said Dickerson. “He’s a hustle-and-heart player who gives over 100 percent every play with a never-give-up attitude. He’s a great example of what holds our team together,” said Dickerson. “Kellan is a four-year player who has a strong basketball IQ and when he’s in the groove, he’s a spot-on three-point shooter.”

Another young player that is high on the coach’s radar is Rayner Bean (5-8, So.). “His ability to find open players reminds me of John Stockton,” stated Dickerson. “He has an uncanny sense of being able to thread the needle on his pin-point passes and is also a cunning defensive player.” The inside game will be handled by Conner Green (6-5, Jr.). “He has really built himself into a post body with guard skills. He can knock down a three or post up with his back to the basket and is a team leader,” said Dickerson. Look for help from seniors Ceato Liscano (5-11), Zander Holleman (5-10), and Chaney Williams (6-0) as well as juniors Joseph Vance and Blake Tuck. Freshmen Kayden Cummings and Kanyon Burell will also be looking to make a mark for the ‘Jax. “A combination of size, athleticism, and great team chemistry will set the tone for Wright City this season,” said the head coach.
