McAlester Area Spring Sports Athletes to Watch
PLAYERS TO WATCH
BASEBALL
Chance Lott – Indianola
Chance is a highly decorated player, including the fall 2021 All-Area Player of the Year, two-time All-Area, two-time All-Conference.
Gage Mullins – McAlester
Gage is a leader on the team is a great example for younger players to look up to.
Chase Pair & Denver Hamilton – Red Oak
These two are outstanding players for Eagle’s baseball team. The team’s season will be highly impacted by these two athletes.
Connor Clayton – Stuart
Connor led his team in hitting the past two years. This fall, he hit .540 with seventeen doubles. He also led his team in pitching. Connor is a great athlete and an even better young man.
SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
Cady Myers – Buffalo Valley
Cady is a sophomore with an incredible combo of power and bat speed in her swing. She hits for a very high average that really fits into the lineup where power is also needed. She is a great teammate always ready to step up in big moments to help her team succeed.
Courtnee Sensibaugh – Hartshorne
She is a team player, pushes her teammates to be their very best. Courtnee helps the program to achieve on, and off the field.
Maci Mitchell – Indianola
Maci has been the heart and soul of the Indianola girl’s athletics program. She has been pivotal to the success of the team.
Halle Giaudrone – Kiowa
Halle hits for average and power, she is a great teammate, she is also a solid defensive player
Casey Woods – McAlester
Casey will be playing shortstop for the Lady Buffs. She has great footwork, is strong, and is a great hitter. Casey is just a freshman and she has a bright future ahead of her.
Trinity Wiseman – Pittsburg
She is very athletic. She can play any position on the field. She leads by example in every practice and game. She can hit with power and a high average. She will be hard to replace.
Ashlynn Franklin – Quinton
Ashlynn has been a QHS Slowpitch pitcher since she was a freshman. She is always energetic and upbeat. As a Senior leader, she is focused on seeing and helping her team succeed in all aspects of the game of softball as well as life.
Ashton Grogan – Red Oak
A player that has and will be a dominating force in the circle. Her performance last year was spectacular in the state tournament.
Addison Moore – Savanna
Addison Moore is our senior that plays 3rd. Her size and her strength makes it more comfortable when she gets up at bat. She is able to put a lot of power behind the ball.
Braelyn Blasengame – Stuart
Braelyn works extremely hard at everything she does, she is active in a number of other activities. She was selected as an Oklahoma Fast Pitch All-State player and has signed to play with Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Shay Vanderburg – Wilburton
Shay is a four-year starter. She is the team’s leadoff and just has that “it” factor that makes people want to follow her.

Jayden Fabry – McAlester
Jayden is in his senior year at McAlester. He is an athlete that is capable of playing any position on the field. He can be slotted into any position on the field and make it look like it is his natural position.
GIRLS SOCCER
Allison Bond – McAlester
Bond is a four-year captain. She brings vocal leadership to the team as she anchors the defense. Not only is she a competitor on the field, but in the classroom as well. Her academics are as impressive as her athletics. She is a true leader, providing wisdom to teammates and classmates alike.

Josh O’Dell – Indianola
Josh is a great kid that has a high baseball IQ.
Caden Lesnau – McAlester
A hard worker on the field and in the classroom, Lesnau has a bright future in the game of baseball.
Brex Caldwell – Red Oak
Brex brings a lot of skill to the team. WIth continued hard work, he will be big-time player for the next few years.
Drevon Colbert – Stuart
He is a coachable player that does a great job of working on his game and making improvements.

Jayda Moore – Hartshorne
Jayda is a freshman that has helped the Lady Miners as an outfielder. Her work ethic is one of the best on the team. The team is excited to see her grow as a player for the Lady Miners.
Graci Ward – Indianola
Graci pitches on the school’s fastpitch team, but she can play any position that her slow pitch team needs her to.
Alison Wolfenbarger – Kiowa
Alison is a good athlete and is fundamentally sound in the field.
Madison Ayers – McAlester
Madison is a great player, she plays in the outfield during the slow-pitch season and third base during the fall. She is fast and will travel to get balls to hit in the outfield. She is fundamentally sound.
Raina Meashintubby – Pittsburg
She is really good defensively. She hits for average. She is the team’s morale leader, constantly reassuring her teammates and building them up. She is an important part of the team’s success.
Tannah Davison – Quinton
Tannah played first base last spring as a freshman and had a .414 avg with three home runs and 28 RBI. She is expected to have bigger numbers this season. She is always willing to play wherever she is needed.
Cady Ammons, Lexi Ober and Abbie Tovar – Red Oak
Already proven performers at the plate as well as defensively, all three players have the talent to individually change the outcome of a game.
Sophia Calistro – Savanna
Sophia is our sophomore that has the nose speed on the team. From playing short it makes it hard to get a ball past her and as soon as she hits the ball it is hard to be able to keep up with her as she is rounding the bases.
Haddie Lindley – Stuart
Haddie pitched for us last year as a freshman and led us to the state tournament.
Tegan Tilley – Wilburton
Tegan has the desire to be the best at whatever she does. She excels in basketball, fastpitch, slowpitch, and track. She’s also very competitive in the rodeo scene.

Ronaldo is an outstanding kid that works hard to be his best when he gets on the field.

BASEBALL
J.D. Muse – Ada
Very methodical in his approach to his work, highly intellectual, both on and off the field. Taking aeronautics and will graduate with his pilot’s license.
Cole Tracy – Byng
Cole is an solid hitter at the plate and he also plays great on the infield.
Trey Wilkinson – Coalgate
Trey will be a four-year starter at first base. He was a first-team all-district first baseman last spring and has been a consistent hitter for the team. Has a great chance at playing at the next level.
Danny Baldridge – Roff
A hard-nosed type of player that plays middle infield and switch hits from the lead off spot. He leads by his actions and commitment as well as being the biggest supporter of his teammates…his teammates come first!
Jase Fulks – Stratford
With the bat in his hand, Jase led the team in hitting as a sophomore with a .478 average and 23 RBIs and scored 22 times while being a defensive gem behind the plate at catcher.
Derick Fields – Wynnewood
Fields is one of the top players on the team in every category. He is a leader who pushes his teammates to stay positive and always give their best effort. Derick can play any position asked of him and he never complains.

Breana Hale – Coalgate
Hale is the epitome of a team player and she is a leader on and off the field.
Julie Coats – Konawa
Julie is a hard worker. It would be hard to find someone who could outwork her. She is the team leader and she will be counted on to be successful this spring.
Meadow Baxter – Paoli
Meadow is returning with the most experience to a team that graduated six seniors last year. As a sophomore, she was second on the team in all statistical categories. On and off the field, she is a great leader by example and does for the better of the team.
Payton Owens – Roff
Senior shortstop, Payton is an absolute terror to her opponents. In two seasons, she has accumulated over seventy home runs. Defensively she does things that most kids just can’t do. She has signed her letter of intent to play at Seminole State Junior College next year.
Brynn Savage – Stratford
Brynn has been a starter since her freshman year. She is a senior this year and leads in the classroom as well as the field. She was named All-District in fastpitch and All-Conference for three years.
Ally Dixon – Sulphur
A 4-year starter at 2nd base, Ally has totaled 55 career home runs going into her senior season. She also takes care of her classroom assignments as a 4.0 student.
Brinn Brassfield – Vanoss
Brinn has been a huge part of the program over the course of her career. She has a great work ethic on and off the field, and her positive attitude and huge personality have made her a favorite with anybody who meets her.

Sam Rhynes – Ada
Sam is a tough kid and a hard worker. He is always ready to work and put in the time necessary to be successful.
GIRLS SOCCER
Maryanne Criswell – Ada
Maryanne is a four-year starter. She is a hard worker and a great teammate. Criswell is dependable and has been a pillar of the offense for the last three years. Maryanne plans to attend the University of Arkansas.

Players to Watch
BASEBALL
Lane Worthington – Achille
A six-foot, 190-pound junior that had a .580 batting average last season. He carries a 3.9 GPA. Lane is a great kid. He puts in hard work on the field as well as in the classroom.
Kollin Ritchie – Atoka
Kollin is an outstanding young man. He’s not only good on the diamond but great in the classroom and community as well. Kollin is a great teammate and leader. He is a great hitter with a bright future.
Kamden Edge – Boswell
Named the Bryan County Conference MVP as a sophomore, Kamden is a game changer. On the mound he posted a 2.30 ERA in 48 innings with 85 strikeouts. In addition to his glove talents at shortstop, he also hit for a .455 average during his sophomore season.
Walker Redman – Durant
Walker plays pitcher and corner infield. He started at multiple positions as a sophomore and junior and had some appearances as a freshman.
Stephen Sisco – Madill
An all-conference outfielder last year, Stephen is a very talented junior who plays three sports. We may move him to third base this spring in addition to adding extra innings for our pitching staff.
Kyler Proctor – Silo
A true force on the baseball diamond at the plate and on the mound. The 5-10 right hander has command of multiple pitches. An Oklahoma State commit, Proctor not only got the win on the mound but delivered a walk-off home run last fall to give Silo the Class A fall baseball state title.
Lex Simon – Tushka
Lex is a versatile player that catches and pitches and hits at the top of the lineup. He does a great job of handling the pitching staff and making sure the defense is in the right spots. Offensively he always hits for a high average and is a tough out. He is used to closing games and will make a start when needed.

Kadey McKay – Caddo
Kadey is a sophomore who, as a freshman, played shortstop and hit 39 home runs. Being such a young team, Kadey has taken over the leadership role as a sophomore and is expected to have another solid season.
Kayla Colbert – Hugo
Kayla is a junior and is the captain of the team. She not only works hard on the field but also off. Her main position is catcher, but in slow-pitch, she will be a Utility player. She can be counted on and holds herself and her team accountable for their play on the field.
Keeley Johnson – Rattan
She is a great all-around kid and an outstanding player on the field. She works hard to be a leader among her peers.
Lexi McDonald & Shaylyn Midgley – Silo
Lexi has signed to play at Oklahoma State University and Shaylyn has signed with the University of Central Oklahoma. Both girls have over 80 home runs in their careers. They are big-time players who helped Silo win a state championship in the fall. They are great leaders who lead by example.
Gracie Dunlap – Stringtown
Gracie is who the team always relies on in the field and at the plate. They can always count on her to get that big hit and make that big play. She’s a workhorse and never hesitates to do what is asked of her.
Tymber Alford – Tushka
She is a hard worker that always puts in the required time plus she puts in extra time at home.

Karah Boydstun – Durant
She scored 32 goals as a freshman and has the potential to play at the next level.

Casey Angel – Achille
Casey is a skilled athlete that works hard to be his best.
Heath Grimley – Atoka
Throughout his career, he has been a tough and hard competitor and it will help him be the best player that he can be.
Tagen Simon – Tushka
While one of the younger guys on the team, Tagen comes into this season ready to make an impact.

Jaycie Nichols – Caddo
Jaycie is an unbelievable athlete that swings it well and can absolutely wreak havoc on the bases. She should be able to hit the ball where she wants to and may end up playing in the middle infield or outfield this spring.
Kendall Hicks – Hugo
Kendall is a sophomore. She is the type of play every coach wants, someone that is coachable. She listens and wants to get better every practice. Kendall works hard on the field and also off the field.
Chloe James – Rattan
In the classroom and on the softball field, Chloe always gives her 100 percent at whatever she is working on.
Avery Beauchamp – Silo
Avery is already a great hitter and she will continue to improve as she grows and gets stronger. She has great leadership skills as a sophomore and will be one of the team leaders next year.
Josie Magby – Stringtown
Josie is a freshman who plays a lot of positions for her team. She works hard and does what she needs to for her team.
Jaden Huffman – Tushka
Sophomore with great upside when she figures out how good she can be and puts in the work.

Timber Hensley – Caddo
Timber will be in the middle of the lineup and swings the bat well. She is able to play most infield positions and will play wherever needed.
Kendall Hicks – Hugo
Kendall has definitely stepped up to the plate. She has taken on new positions to help her team out. She is an outstanding shortstop and can play wherever you need her.
Jaylei Gorden – Rattan
Gorden is a strong competitor and she helps her team out however she can, even if her impact does not show on the stat sheet.
Charley Hampton – Silo
Charley is very talented with lots of pop of the bat. She is a five-tool player that can do it all.

Dawson Robbins – Broken Bow
A three-year starter at catcher and pitcher, Robbins is a very hard-working young man.
Brat Hallman – Clayton
A top-level performer as shortstop and as a catcher, Brat continues to make spectacular plays look routine with his arm strength and range. He swung the bat to produce a .667 average while using his speed to steal 20 bases last fall and is anxious for the spring season to begin.
Zack Marsh – Haworth
Senior catcher leads the team in batting average and on-base percentage.
SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
Trenyce Noah – Battiest
Trenyce is always working to get better. Besides practice, she puts in hours of extra work. She is an outstanding athlete and teammate.
Kinley Barron – Whitesboro
Kinley is a leader for the underclassman on the team. She has led the team in batting average for the past three years. She is a solid all-around player on offense as well as defense. Her work ethic goes above and beyond what is expected of her. She is absolutely clutch in big-game situations.

Shomo is a talented baseball player that works hard and continues to get better.

A great kid, Tayton will look to have a big role on the team this season.

Gracie looks to help the Lady Panthers as a utility player who may be called on to play multiple positions.
Madison Grogan – Whitesboro
Madison hits with power and will make a big impact on this season. She hit several home runs as an eighth-grader and she is expected to do the same this season. Madison is a lefty that throws with a lot of velocity and accuracy. She can play infield or outfield very well.

Dicketts may not be the star of the team, but he is a solid everyday player.

Kaeleigh Brown – Battiest
Kaeleigh started in slowpitch and fastpitch at second base for four years. Kaeleigh was among the team leaders in hitting percentage last slowpitch season.
Kayleigh Walker – Whitesboro
Kayleigh has worked hard and vastly improved her game over the past few years. She plays outfield and is quick enough to catch anything remotely close to her. With two outs in the state tournament, she hit a walk-off grand slam. She hit around 13 grand slams last season. So even though she doesn’t have the best batting average, she is clutch in big-game situations.
