We all work hard at whatever we do so that we are able to be our best. Whether it is our job, a hobby, or something else, we want to do our best at what we are doing. And when we reach an accomplishment or achievement, it is something that is important because it is a direct reflection of the hard work that we put in.
Baylor Bishop is a senior at Broken Bow High School where he is a member of the golf team. He has worked hard to raise his golf game to the highest level he can. Throughout his career, he has experienced some really great moments, but for Bishop there is one moment that stands out as the best.
“The highlight of my career would probably be shooting back-to-back 80s to tie with Poteau at regionals,” he said. “We were able to make it to state and that was a really great moment for our team. I always try to be my best at whatever I do because I want to be noticed and being my best will help do that.”
While he only plays golf now, Bishop has played other sports in the past. But as he continued to play golf, he realized how much he enjoyed playing and decided to focus all of his energy on that.
“Once I figured out I was passionate about golf, I made some changes,” he said. “I decided to quit football and use the extra time to practice golf more to better my game. I tried to model my swing after Rory Mcilroy but I’d say I try to have the same mentality as Tiger Woods.”
Though he looks up to these two golfers, Baylor says that there are a couple of other people that have played big roles in him being where he is today.
“I have to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,” he said. “He has given me the opportunity to play the game that I love. I could not do anything without Him. Also, my parents have been huge supporters for me and always been in my corner.”
