GIRLS
Coach: Misty Haley
21-22 Record: 21-7
Getting to the regional finals last year was nice but the Lady Lumberjax feel like they’ve got some unfinished business for this season. “We have a lot of experience returning from last year and we’re looking to advance further in the playoffs,” said head coach Misty Haley. Leading the way will be point guard Madison Carter (5-8, Jr.) whose size will make her a mismatch for opponents. “Madison averaged 17.0 points, 5.0 steals and 4.0 assists last year,” said Haley. “She sees the floor well and can score from anywhere on the court. She works hard on both ends of the floor and gets her teammates involved. She’s already being heavily recruited.”
Four-year starter Briley Walker (6-0, Sr.) will work the inside again this year for Wright City. “She’s a joy to coach and as our only senior, her leadership will help us reach our goals,” said Haley. The strong junior class also feature the play of Ali Gibson, one of the hardest workers on the team according to Haley, Shalan Haley, and Kinsley Scrivner. The sophomores will bring some size with a pair of 5-foot-8 forwards in Skye Gammon and Braileigh Threadgill along with guards McKenlie Miller and Raynie Tom. Grace Vance (6-0, So.) will add another tall presence inside while fellow freshmen Hailey McClour and Mia Reich look to gain some playing time for the Lady ‘Jax.
