Playing a position that many basketball experts consider the most vital to the team, Davis High School shooting guard Preslee Hunt has a long history of playing the game of basketball.
Now a freshman, Preslee picked up the sport when she was only 8 years old. Since then, Prelsee has fine-tuned her skills to become a valuable asset to her team.
“My favorite part of basketball is definitely the competition and the teamwork,” Preslee said. “In terms of my favorite memory, it would be all the excitement of winning the championship game in the recent Arbuckle Classic Tournament 2023.”
Preslee’s greatest influence has been her family.
“The person that has inspired me the most is my dad, as my mentor and my coach,” Preslee said.
When it comes to an athlete that Preslee looks up to, she looks towards an NCAA athlete.
“My favorite athlete is Taylor Robertson from the University of Oklahoma,” Preslee said. “I look up to her, and I respect all the hard work she puts into the game to be such a great shooter.”
There is one academic subject that piques Preslee’s interest the most.
“Without question, my favorite subject is English, because I have always had great teachers that have made it intriguing and fun,” Preslee said.
After high school, Preslee plans on pursuing higher education: “Ideally, I would like to attend the University of Oklahoma.
Off the basketball court, there are other activities that Preslee enjoys.
“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, as well as playing golf and softball,” Preslee said.
