VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Ace’Lee: I started cheering in the second grade with the Valliant Youth Association cheer team. I took a break to focus on my short-lived softball career. When I was in the seventh grade, I tried out for the cheer team and I’ve been loving it ever since.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Ace’Lee: My favorite part of being on a team is the bond we have within our squad. We are all one big family. We learn together, we encourage one another and we grow together. My time on the Valliant cheer team will be something that I cherish forever.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Ace’Lee: I am passionate about my sport because cheering for me is more than just a sport. Cheer has given me a sense of pride and love for the sport, my team, and my school. Cheer has taught me lessons that I will carry with me throughout life.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Ace’Lee: My favorite part of representing my high school as a cheerleader is not only encouraging and supporting our teams but the feeling of being a part of something great. Being a part of the Valliant Bulldog family is truly an honor. I am and always will be proud to be a Bulldog.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
Ace’Lee: The professional athlete that I look up to was the late Kobe Bryant. His determination and his strong work ethic made him a true leader. He was constantly looking for ways to be a better athlete and perfect his craft. He strove to be the best on and off the court and he succeeded. Kobe Bryant was also a tap dancer like me!
VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?
Ace’Lee: National Honor Society, Company Member at Stepping Out School of Dance and I am a member of my church choir.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Ace’Lee: The person that inspires me is my sister. Kelcie is not only my best friend but my biggest fan. She takes time to come to all of my events whether it be cheering or dancing. She is the most hardworking person I have ever met. Every day, she prays over me and prays with me.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Ace’Lee: My favorite teacher is my AP English teacher, Mrs. Manning. She is my favorite teacher because she expects our absolute best and we still have fun in her class.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you
Ace’Lee: I would like to say thank you to my family for always supporting me and coming to my events. Thank you for investing in me to succeed in all of my endeavors. To my coach and my cheer team, this year was filled with unforgettable memories and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of ladies to cheer with. Thank you for helping me be a better cheerleader and person.
