DAVIS WOLVES
Coach: GREG PARKER
9-2
OFFENSE – The Wolves are trending in the right direction coming off a nine win season in 2022. Eight starters return on the offensive side of the ball. Luke Linville (6-1, 210, JR) steps in at quarterback after starting two full seasons in the secondary. Head coach Greg Parker says the Wolves will be able to throw and catch the ball better than they have in a long time. Linville is a perfect operator for the pistol formation with his size and skill. Trey Melton (5-10 ,175, JR), Dakota Carter (6-0, 175, JR) and Seth Knapp (5-9, 170, SR) will rotate at the wide receiver position while also playing full-time on defense. Spencer Clinton (6-2, 210, SR) is an above average blocker at tight end. He will help establish supremacy along the line of scrimmage where four starters return. Colton Rawls (6-1, 235, SR) and Jacob McClellan (6-1, 315, JR) are the tackles with Fisher Smith (5-10, 180, JR) and Mason Tomlinson (6-1, 220, JR) at guard. Logan Gibson (6-4, 250, JR). At fullback, Brenden Rawls (5-9, 185, JR) takes over full-time after splitting carries with his brother in 2022. Tyson Moss (5-8, 185, SR) and Rance Digby (5-10, 185, JR) will see time at running back.
DEFENSE – Eight starters also return on the defense. Mitchell Garrison (5-9, 210, SR) holds it down in the middle of the three-man front with Colton Rawls (6-1, 235, SR) and Spencer Clinton (6-2, 210, SR) next to Garrison at the tackles. Wyatt Fielding (6-4, 215, JR) and Mason Tomlinson (6-1, 220, JR) will rotate in up front. Fielding can also play some tight end. The Wolves receive a big boost in the form of Ethan May (5-10, 185, SR) who joins in the fray at inside linebacker. May has been battling foot injuries since junior high and is out for the first time in years. Rance Digby (5-10, 185, JR) and Brenden Rawls (5-9, 185, JR) return as the starters at the inside linebacker position. Davis has depth at outside linebacker where Tye Barnett (5-10, 170, SR) and Tyson Moss (5-8, 185, SR) return. Barnett can play multiple positions on either side of the ball and never backs down from contact. Jaxson Bonner (5-9, 190, SR) and Dee Idleman (5-9, 170, JR) will push for playing time at the position. Dakota Carter (6-0, 175, JR) and Seth Knapp (5-9, 170, SR) run very well at cornerback. Luke Linville (6-1, 210, JR) returns for his third season as a starter at safety with Trey Melton (5-10, 175, JR) and Dalton Hefley (6-0, 170, JR) playing at the other two safety spots. Davis is the favorite to repeat as district champions and even have the potential to make a deeper run in the playoffs.
