ANTLERS BEARCATS
Coach: DUSTIN BEASLEY
3-7
OFFENSE
Last season did not go the way the Bearcats football team had hoped, but head coach Dustin Beasley says he looks forward to seeing his team’s improvement this year. “Our team will be much improved this season,” he said. “I am expecting to see some guys step up and fill in some spots.” Leading the team at quarterback will be Kooper Johnson (6-1, 190, Jr.). Two targets that he will look for on the outside will be Chandler Johnson (5-3, 150, Jr.) and Raycton Lowe (5-10, 150, Jr.). The trio of Matthew Green (6-2, 265, Jr.), Sherman Riemenschneider (6-3, 245, Jr.), and Colton Sorrells (6-4, 270, Jr.) will anchor the offensive line and work to keep their quarterback on his feet.
DEFENSE
Reece Crowsey (6-2, 190, Sr.), who is a VYPE Top 100 selection, will be a key player on the Bearcats’ defense this season at linebacker. Joining him at linebacker will be Conner Owens (6-3, 180, Sr.). Tyler Medeiros (6-2, 190, Jr.) will split time between linebacker and defensive back. In the secondary, Daniel Caldwell (5-10, 160, Sr.) will be working to lockdown opposing wide receivers at the cornerback position. “Daniel is the spark to big plays in all facets of the game,” coach Beasley said about Caldwell. Playing at strong safety will be Micah Parkins (5-7, 155, Sr.). He will be the team’s last line of defense to keep their opponents out of the end zone. Taking care of things up front will be defensive lineman Chance Marris (6-3, 230, Sr.). A couple of other players to keep an eye on this season are Grant Armstrong and Cade Sorrells. Grant is an outstanding athlete who always gives one hundred percent effort on every play. Another solid player is Sorrells. “Cade is a fine young man who does everything that is asked of him and will never embarrass you, your team, or anyone for that matter,” Beasley said. “Cade is a young man who you can count on to do what is right even when no one watching.”
