VALLIANT BULLDOGS
Coach: KIM NIX
3-7
OFFENSE
The Bulldogs are ready to put last season’s 3-7 record behind them and begin this season with a clean slate. Head coach Kim Nix is expecting better play all around this season. “We will be improved in our offense, this being to the second year in the flex bone,” coach Nix said. “The defense should be solid. We have a good group of freshmen coming up.” Taking care of the blocking up front will be center Hayzn Harmon (6-1, 240, Sr.), tackle Payton Robinson (6-1, 250, Sr.), and tackle Hunter Burgess (5-8, 220, So.). This trio will anchor the offensive line and help keep the defense out of the backfield. Dylan Connell (5-10, 175, Sr.) will be at quarterback for the Bulldogs and leading the offense. Fullback Kenny Golston (6-1, 205, So.) and wingback Zay Brown (5-6, 155, Sr.) will work to get the ball into the open field.
DEFENSE
When it comes to the Bulldog defense, they have a stable of solid linebackers ready to make plays when the time comes. Darius Cherry (5-8, 165, Sr.), Garrett Cunningham (6-1, 200, Jr.), Rowen Gee (5-10, 170, So.), and Dakota McDonald (5-10, 165, Sr.) are all outstanding players and should have a big impact on the season. Golston will line up at defensive end and will work to get pressure on the opposing quarterback. In the secondary, Connell will watch for the ball in the secondary. One player that will not be on the field but will be showing his support from the sideline is Colton Matlock, who played linebacker last season. As an outstanding bronc rider, he dislocated his femur from his knee and will have to miss his senior season. Assistant coaches for Valliant this season are Adrien Keeton, Weston Bates, Jason Allensworth, Don Gross, and Phillp Stricklin.
