HARTSHORNE MINERS
GIRLS
Coach: Shane Hackler
22-23 Record: 19-8
The Hartshorne Lady Miners are looking forward to a hopeful season ahead, carrying with them the experience and tenacity that took them to the state quarterfinals in the previous season. Under the seasoned leadership of head coach Shane Hackler, who has been with the program for eight years, they are eager to make their mark once again. The team’s resilience is evident as they bring back all five starters from last year, who have proven their ability to provide the energy and drive necessary for success on the court. This year, they also introduce six athletic and hardworking freshmen who are ready to make an impact right from the start. With a remarkable track record that includes five state tournament appearances in the last six years, the Lady Miners are determined to take their journey one step further, with their eyes set on the elusive state championship.
The return of star senior Alanna Williams (5-7, Sr.) is a key component of their strategy. Williams is a force to be reckoned with, dominating both ends of the floor with her offensive prowess and aggressive defense. Averaging 17 points per game, she showcased her scoring abilities with a remarkable 40-point game against Okemah last season. Alongside Williams, the team also looks to emerging talent in the form Addison Bernardi (5-7, Fr.), a confident point guard who is poised to make her mark. Another crucial player, Sofia Camp (5-7, Sr.), embodies hard work and a commitment to excellence, contributing in numerous ways, especially on the defensive front. With her dedication, long wingspan and relentless work ethic, Camp’s contributions are vital to the team’s overall success. Some other players to watch for the Lady Miners this season include Lexis Vicars (5-10, Jr.), Brooklyn Surginer (5-10, Jr.) and Jayda Moore (5-7, Jr.) who will be impact players as well. As the season unfolds, the Hartshorne Lady Miners aim to build on their past achievements and create a legacy for themselves in girls’ high school basketball.
