SULPHUR BULLDOGS
BOYS
Coach: Grant Bates
22-23 Record: 12-15
After getting a full season under their belt, the Sulphur Bulldogs enter this season ready to make a bigger splash. Second year head coach Grant Bates says that his squad had to grow last season and they should reap the rewards of that this season. “We were a young team a year ago, starting freshman and sophomore kids,” Bates said. “We will look to build on how we finished in the closing stretch of the year.” Devin Willis (6-1, Jr.) is a player that will be a leader on this year’s squad. He is a two-year starter and a good athlete that gets better each year in his skill development. Another big-timeplayer for the Bulldogs this year is going to be Bridge Barrett (6-0, So.). He has an outstanding work ethic in the gym and in the weight room. He has come into his own over the past year and will be a good skilled Class 4A point guard this year.
Garrick Sisneros (5-10, Sr.) is a player that Bates says has worked hard to get where he is. “Garrick is a senior that has worked his way up into a significant role on the team,” Bates said. “When I’ve seen a number of athletes quit when they don’t get a role early on in their career, he stuck with basketball all the way through developing each year to now having a roll his final season as a bulldog.” Other guys that will have an impact on Sulphur’s season are Trace Todd (6-0, Sr.), Briar Davenport (5-10, Sr.), Colten Cole (6-3, So.), Marcus Smith (6-2, Sr.), Dagan Leming (6-0, Sr.), and Sebastian Rivas (6-0, Sr.). Rounding out the team and looking to make a contribution this year are Zac Woods (6-0, Jr.), Jett Terry (6-6, Jr.), Trey Anderson (6-1, Jr.), Dugan Gray (5-11, Fr.), Drake Wood (5-9, Fr.), Jax Jackson (5-10, Fr.), Castin Tulley (6-0, So.), Hayden Raymo (5-11, So.), and Dax Lowrance (6-0, So.).
