In the midst of the Hartshorne girls’ recent success on the basketball court, Jayda Moore emerges as an athletic, young player, poised for another exciting season.
As she readies herself for the challenges ahead, Jayda reflects on the guidance she’s received from Coach Jeff Beare, her track coach, and a figure who has consistently pushed her to excel: “He impacts me as an athlete and pushes me to reach my potential. He stays right by me in every race.”
Teammates often become a second family in the world of sports, and for Jayda, Alanna Williams stands out as a constant pillar of support. “Alanna Williams is one of my biggest supporters and works with me in the gym every day, so I can be the best version of myself,” Jayda said.
Beyond the court, Jayda finds inspiration in her yearbook teacher, Mrs. Lori Cook. “My favorite teacher is my yearbook teacher, Mrs. Cook,” she said. “She is influential to me because she reminds me to smile always, no matter what is going on.” Mrs. Cook’s impact extends beyond academics, serving as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a positive outlook in the face of challenges.
Basketball, for Jayda, is not just a sport; it’s taught her profound life lessons: “Basketball has showed me how to be a hard worker in not just sports, but everything else in life.”
As she delves into her favorite memories, Jayda cherishes the moments spent in the locker room minutes before game time, a testament to the camaraderie and unity that defines her team. Looking ahead, Jayda’s aspirations extend beyond personal achievements: “I want to win the gold ball with my teammates,” she said, emphasizing the collective goals that drive her on the court.
With a keen eye on the season, Jayda eagerly anticipates a matchup with the Riverside Lady Braves, awaiting the thrill of facing formidable opponents.
As Jayda envisions life after high school, she plans on continuing her athletic and academic career, either in basketball or cross-country.
