HARTSHORNE MINERS
Coach – JEFF BEARE
OFFENSE
Last season did not go the way that coach Jeff Beare had planned, but he enters this season with optimism. His offense returns seven of their starters, including quarterback Bryson Cervantes (5-10, 180, Sr.). Protecting the quarterback will be offensive linemen Landen Burke (5-10, 200, Sr.) and Landen Semeski (5-9, 220, Sr), who will work hard to keep Cervantes upright. Xavier Frasier (6-0, 170, Sr.) will be a target for Bryson on the outside. Look for the Miners to depend on several young players to mature into vital roles for the team this season.
DEFENSE
The Miners’ defense brings back six guys who played last season and are ready to mess up the plans of the opponent’s offense. John Beauchamp (5-10, 220, Sr.) will be back at outside linebacker, joined by Jackson Moody (5-10, 170, So.). Both guys have put in the work in the offseason to be even more prepared to be a force this season. Moody enjoyed a nice freshman season and with another year of growth and maturity, he could develop into one of the top players on the team. Along with his responsibilities on the offensive side of the ball, Cervantes will also play a key role on the defense at safety. He will try to be an interrupter of the opponent’s passing game.
