Ada girls tennis has one of the best returning casts in the state after placing third as a team in the 5A state tournament last spring.
All six starters are back for this year.
“Last season, five of them were freshmen, and they had an outstanding season,” Ada head coach Terry Swopes said. “They will be looking to improve on that this season.”
Ava Bolin, the team’s lone senior starter, is in the No. 1 singles spot. After placing sixth as a junior in the same event, she aims to earn a medal this spring.
“[Ava] is the leader for our team and an incredible tennis player,” Swopes said.
Her younger sister, sophomore Jessi Bolin, and Lilly Cadenhead pair for Ada’s No. 1 doubles team.
“Lilly is a sophomore this year and an excellent tennis player. She is one of the best players on our team and works incredibly hard,” Swopes said. “Jessi is an excellent player and an incredible student. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA and is at the top of her class.”
