Ada’s girls soccer team is “fighting hard” to rebuild this season after graduating numerous key players from its 7-8 2022 campaign.
“I am proud of how far we have come this offseason but understand that we have a long way to go in order to reach our goal,” head coach Cole Jones says.
Konner Bickerstaff, one of the team’s most anticipated returners, is a senior midfielder and will be the Cougars’ distributor through the middle of the field. Jones says she’s overcome “a ton.”
“She [Bickerstaff] tore an ACL her freshman year and fought hard to come back from it,” Jones says. “After that journey back, she tore her other ACL her junior year and has been rehabbing this year. She is just now getting back at full strength and looks stronger than ever.”
Another Bickerstaff, sophomore Kennadee, is a similarly talented athlete who will make an immediate impact for the Cougars this season.
“‘DD’ is a wonderful player that brings the energy to the field. She is not scared to run full-speed at anything as long as it is helping her team,” Jones says. “She has no quit and worked extremely hard this offseason and has came a long way athletically over this past year.”
Karris Eaves will provide a defensive spark for the Cougars this year, a player “that you can always count on to be in the right place at the right time,” the senior is primed for a big year.
“You can count on her [Eaves] to lead our younger players down the right road as she helps coach them up every day,” Jones says.
