With the season underway the Ada Cougars have two dual wins under their belt. Both duals were road wins against Class 5A opponents Durant and McAlester.
Coming into the season the team looked to Caden Balthrop, the No. 4 ranked 215-pound wrestler in Class 4A, for leadership and wins. He is providing both. Last season Balthrop wrestled at the state tournament and is hungry for more this season.
Head coach Kyle Bohannon does have a few underclassmen contributing and as the season moves forward the Cougars could be a tough out. The team lost Tre Ivy to graduation. Ivy was state runner-up last season at 145-pounds.
