Ada’s Josie Morgan – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Ada’s Candy Shoppe

Josie Morgan, a senior at Ada High School, embodies the spirit of a true student-athlete. Her journey as a dedicated second baseman for the school’s softball team has been defined by unwavering determination and the support of her teammates.

“For me, motivation comes from my teammates. They are able to lift me up anytime of the day,” Josie shared, emphasizing the importance of camaraderie in her athletic endeavors.

Reflecting on her journey, she highlights the impact of Mrs. Weems, her eighth-grade teacher, who left a mark with her kindness and support. “She was always kind and helpful to her students,” Josie recalled, sharing the enduring impact of a caring mentor.

Josie’s commitment to success is evident in the sacrifices she’s made – countless hours hitting the ball off the tee and taking ground balls, demonstrating her unyielding dedication to her craft.

One of the defining moments in Josie’s career occurred during her sophomore year when the support of her fellow students at a crucial playoff game left a lasting impact on her. “The highlight moment of my career was during my sophomore year when the East Central softball team and the Ada High Cougars came to support the Lady Cougars in playoffs. They cheered loud and got the energy up,” she recalled.

While she cherishes every victory, there’s a special satisfaction in triumphing over Glenpool, marking a turning point for both her team and her class. “The opponent I enjoyed beating the most was Glenpool my freshman year. This was a turning point for the team and my class,” she reminisced highlighting the significance of that particular victory.

In her plans for the future, Josie envisions herself at the University of Oklahoma. Her involvement in numerous clubs and organizations, combined with her stellar academic record, reflect a student whose impact extends far beyond the softball field.

Representing Ada High isn’t just a duty for Josie; it’s a privilege. Having been part of the community for twelve years and representing the school for six, she understands the honor and responsibility that comes with donning the school’s colors. The “block A” represents a community she’s proud to be a part of, and her legacy will undoubtedly endure long after she’s left its halls.
