Pauls Valley’s Jase Ford – Powerlifting Spotlight – Presented by the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma

Pauls Valley High School student Jase Ford is a rising star whose journey as a powerlifter represents his dedication to physical excellence and his strong connection to the Choctaw Nation.

“My Choctaw blood comes from my father,” Jase shared, highlighting his heritage as a source of pride and influence in his life.

Introduced to powerlifting during his sophomore year, Jase found his niche in the world of strength training. “I got involved with powerlifting through my friends, who said it would help me get stronger for football,” Jase explained.

Understanding the importance of teamwork extends beyond the powerlifting mats for Jase. “Teamwork is essential in any sport,” he asserted, acknowledging the role of support and collaboration in achieving success.

Community support has been a cornerstone of Jase’s athletic journey. “The community where I’ve grown up has always been supportive of me in every sport,” Jase reflected, grateful for the encouragement he receives from his family and friends.

Recognizing the need for balance, especially during the powerlifting and football seasons, Jase prioritizes his physical and mental well-being. “During the winter, I know it’s time to hit the weight room and get stronger for football,” he mentioned, demonstrating his commitment to his athletic development.

While not actively involved in Choctaw traditions, Jase cherishes family gatherings like the annual BBQ, where he celebrates his heritage with loved ones.

Embracing his role as a representative of the Choctaw Nation, Jase feels a sense of responsibility to set a positive example for younger athletes. “It’s a blessing being Choctaw because of the support they provide,” he acknowledged, understanding the importance of honoring his roots.

Looking ahead, Jase hopes to incorporate his Choctaw heritage into his future endeavors. He is committed to excelling academically and serving as a role model within his community.

As he continues his academic and athletic journey, Jase aims to uphold the values of hard work and dedication while contributing to the preservation and celebration of Choctaw traditions in his own unique way. With his determination and cultural pride, Jase Ford is poised to make a lasting impact both on and off the powerlifting platform.
