Hi, what are you looking for?

Ada / Pauls Valley

Q&A with Roff’s Cade Baldridge – Presented by First United Bank

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Cade: I enjoy being a role model for the younger kids at my school. I have been in their shoes before and I know how much they look up to high school athletes.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Cade: My all time favorite teacher is Mrs. Morgan. I think she is the best teacher to walk the earth because not only did she teach us the subject she taught us several things to make us better individuals. She also cared about every student as if they were her own child.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Cade: I look up to Josè Altuve because he is a stud. Also, in all honesty, I’m not the tallest person and he is one of the shortest guys to play Major League Baseball, so that’s inspiring to me.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Cade: My parents are a huge inspiration to me because they work extremely hard to give my siblings and I the best life they possibly can. I am very appreciative of them and I hope to be as good of a parent as them one day.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Cade: I am passionate about my sport for a couple of reasons. One is simply my love for the game. Another reason I am passionate is because I enjoy representing my school in a positive way.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?

Cade: My favorite part about being on a team has to be the bonds I’ve built with my teammates individually. Considering that my teammates and I spend countless hours working to be the best, we have no choice but to be around each other nearly every day. I love seeing my teammates succeed because I know how hard they’ve work to be where they are at.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you

Cade: I think the best advice I have received is “move forward, you can’t change the past.” I’ve heard this through sports but it applies to pretty much everything in life.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Cade: A big steak with a baked potato is unbeatable in my opinion.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Cade: I thank god for giving me the ability and opportunity to participate in sports. I also thank my family, coaches, and teammates for getting me to where I am today.
