Nash Williamson

Sulphur High School

The starting left guard and defensive end for the Sulphur Bulldogs ready for football season to kickoff, but he’s also looking forward to activities in FFA getting underway as well.

Nash Williamson is entering his junior year at Sulphur, and he is excited to start the new school year.

“My favorite part of my team is the comradery and bonds shared between myself and my teammates from the continued years of playing together,” said Williamson.

Williamson started playing football when he was in the sixth grade. Three years later he joined the FFA in his first year of high school.

“I joined FFA during my freshman year of high school and prior to that I was an active member of 4-H since the third grade. I was encouraged to join 4-H and FFA by my father and brother who were both members while in school. Many of my family members were active in FFA during high school. We own and operate a ranch with cattle and swine,” said Williamson.

Competing with livestock is what Williamson loves most.

“I am heavily involved in livestock showing. My family spends every weekend from Thanksgiving until spring break traveling across the state for shows. Most days after practice, I go home to spend an additional two or three hours training my animals so they can compete to their best ability. In addition, I serve as vice president of the Sulphur FFA chapter. I am involved in leadership, welding, horticulture, speech and debate,” said Williamson. “I enjoy the competition of showing livestock. Every six months we start with a new set of pigs to break, train, and condition to compete at the highest level. To consistently win is difficult and challenging, and that is what motivates me. I also enjoy the life skills, leadership opportunities, community service and relationships built through the program.”

Williamson plans to attend college once he graduates high school and pursue a law degree with a goal to one day sit on the U.S. Supreme Court.
