Jolee Prentice

Tishomingo High School

Jolee Prentice was in the eighth grade when she joined her local FFA chapter. Now a junior at Tishomingo High School, Prentice is a member of the varsity softball team and still an active member in FFA.

It was a family member who inspired her to join the FFA.

“I grew up watching my brother, and he pushed me to be in FFA,” Prentice said. “I’m involved in raising and showing cattle. My whole family was involved in the cattle business, making me fall in love with showing and cattle since day one.”

For Prentice, raising and showing livestock is just one thing she loves about being in FFA at Tishomingo. She also loves the people.

“What I love most about FFA are the opportunities that are given, and all the amazing friendships that are made,” said Prentice.

The same can be said about her teammates on the softball team. Prentice started playing softball around the age of four and she has loved every minute of it.

“Me and my teammates are a family through and through, and always have each other’s backs,” said Prentice.

The shortstop is looking forward to the new season, competing and representing her school.

“I’m excited to get to play with all the incoming freshmen. I’m excited to chase the goal we set every year, which is to be back in the state tournament,” said Prentice.

Once she adds graduate to her name, Prentice is looking forward to attending college and pursuing a degree. “I would like to attend Oklahoma State University and pursue a degree in Ag Business,” said Prentice.
