Finding something to do is not a problem for Wynnewood High School’s Jacie Russell. From running on the cross country team to serving as the FFA chapter president, Russell works hard to keep up with her packed schedule.
“I am involved in cross country, National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and FCA. I am also the boys’ basketball and track manager,” said Russell. “I am the president of our FFA chapter, so I am involved in all activities our chapter holds. My role is to plan activities, encourage others to be involved, and help our ag teacher in any way possible.”
Russell first got involved in FFA in middle school, thanks to a trip to the state convention.
“I first got involved in FFA as an 8th grader, I was taken to the State FFA Convention that year and fell in love ever since,” said Russell. “My parents encouraged me to show lambs when I was younger and that opened the door to FFA.”
Being a member of FFA is something Russell loves, and she encourages anyone interested in FFA to give it a shot.
“There are so many things I enjoy in FFA but probably my favorite is probably going on the officer retreat. I get to have fun with the other officers, get to know them better, as well as work on team leadership skills,” said Russell.
