9 Questions with Hugo’s Alley Ivey – Softball Spotlight – Presented by Jay Hodge Dodge of Hugo

VYPE: What motivates you?

Alley Ivey: God and my family motivate me every day!

VYPE: What has it taken to be successful in your sports?

AI: It’s taken a lot of hard work, wounds, time and determination to be where I am in softball today, but I wouldn’t have made it without my family and the Lord.

VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?

AI: The highlight moment of my softball career has to be the first homerun I hit after losing my teammate. I like to honor her before every game.

VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models? Why?

AI: Some of my biggest role models are my coach, Heather Bunn, and the OU softball team.

VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most? Why?

AI: There’s not really anyone I enjoy beating the most but if I had to choose, it would be Boswell. Their coach was my coach in middle school so it’s fun getting to play them.

VYPE: Which teammate do you enjoy working against the most with in practice? Why?

AI: I enjoy competing with Marley Barnett because we have fun and get work in at the same time.

VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life? How?

AI: My kindergarten teacher, Aimee Thomas, because she is my loving aunt and has taught me more than she knows!

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?

AI: My plans after high school are to achieve my LPN certification and my RN or further.

VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?

AI: It means everything to me to be able to represent Hugo when I play the great sport of softball.
