9 Questions with Hugo’s Quincy Shelton – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Kiamichi Family Medical Center

VYPE: What motivates you?

Quincy Shelton: My love for sports motivates me to work hard every day and do what I love.

VYPE: Who are some of your biggest influences or role models? Why?

QS: My mom and my coaches because they never let me take a day off and push me to be a better player.

VYPE: What teacher has had the biggest impact on your life? How?

QS: Mrs. Christy White because she always stays on me and supports what I do.

VYPE: What has been the highlight moment of your career?

QS: I feel like the highlight moment of my career is making it to State and getting my first two Division II offers.

VYPE: Is there an opponent that you enjoy beating the most? Why?

QS: I like beating Broken Bow the most because the games are always packed out and I think of them as a rival.

VYPE: Which teammate do you enjoy working against the most with in practice? Why?

QS: Damarion Ramsey because he pushes me the most and never lets me take reps off.

VYPE: What clubs and campus activities are you involved with?

QS: I’m in show choir.

VYPE: Who is your favorite person you follow on social media? Why?

QS: My favorite person to follow on social media is Sean Cooper, my 7 on 7 coach and trainer. He is a one of the funniest dudes I know and he’s all about work and having fun. 

VYPE: What does it mean to you to represent your school and community when you play?

QS: It means a lot to represent my school and community because we’re a small town. By acting right and doing the right things, I feel like everyone can notice us as a great school.
