OFFENSE
First year head coach of the Caddo Bruins, Trenton Harmon, heads into 2022 looking to instill his pro twins offensive formation. The Bruins lose seven seniors from the 2021 squad, but are expecting big things from some newcomers as well as familiar faces in 2022. Quarterback Coltin Speers (5-9, 175, Jr.) will lead the charge for the Bruins from under center. With a handful of targets to choose from, Speers looks to have a big junior year. Kaden Danderson (6-3, 170, Sr.) and Kash Pope (6-1, 170, Sr.) both return for their final season, and bring great size to the wide receiver positions and will look to spread the field and create space. Konnor Williams (6-2, 220, Sr.) is a pass blocking tight end that is a very capable pass catcher and provides a safety net for Speers out on the flat. Jaron Purcell (Jr.) will be seeing a lot of snaps at running back and Austin Lackey (So.) will command the line from the center position.
DEFENSE
Three starters return for the Bruins’ 4-1 defense with rotating fronts. The defense is most experienced up front and will look to win the battle at the line of scrimmage. Jeramy Haile (5-11, 220, Sr.) will be the defensive anchor at nose guard. Haile’s disruptive style of play will draw extra attention from blockers allowing Jorden Vaughn (5-10, 180, Sr.) to bring pressure off the edge. Daxton Proctor (5-9, 160, Jr.) looks to be a pest in the secondary and linebackers Charles Phillips (So.) and Ky Miller (So.) will have expanded roles as they continue to grow and mature following their freshman seasons.
