Trista Horn at Coalgate High School is the epitome of passionate leadership on the track team and cheerleading squad. Trista looks back on her path with a mix of ambition and appreciation as she enters her senior year.

Trista’s motivation comes from her ever-present desire to improve both her community and herself. “My motivation is my drive to constantly want better for myself and the people around me for the future,” which demonstrates her natural tenacity.
Trista views her parents as role models whose steadfast support has shaped her character and ambitions. Their dedication serves as fuel for her development, imparting integrity and resilience traits that she may use in all facets of her life.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of mentorship, Trista credits Mrs. Jennifer Griffin, her teacher turned confidante, for leaving a mark on her life. “She is more than a teacher, she is a friend and always a good listener,” Trista reflected, underscoring the profound impact of genuine connections beyond the classroom.

To excel in her pursuits, Trista emphasizes the importance of relentless practice both on and off the court. Her dedication knows no bounds, a nod to her commitment to continuous improvement and mastery of her craft.

Among the highlights of her career, Trista fondly recalls a flawless dance performance during her sophomore year’s basketball homecoming. The seamless execution of stunts marked a moment of triumph and camaraderie.

In the realm of competition, Trista eagerly anticipates facing Atoka, relishing the energy of their school rivalry. Yet, her true challenge lies in competing against her teammates, each bringing unique skills and strengths to the team—a dynamic that fuels their collective success.

In addition to her athletic pursuits, Trista’s involvement in student council and the National Honor Society exemplifies her commitment to academic excellence and community leadership.

As she looks ahead, Trista’s sights are set on the University of Central Oklahoma, where she plans to pursue a degree in accounting—displaying her unwavering determination to carve paths of success beyond high school.

For Trista Horn, representing her school and community is more than a duty; it’s a privilege. As she walks the path of leadership, she remains steadfast in her commitment to inspire and uplift those who follow in her footsteps, embodying the spirit of excellence and integrity in all she does.
