HUGO BUFFALOES

Coach – KRYS GROSS

OFFENSE

After two seasons of serving as the Buffaloes defensive coordinator, Krys Gross takes over as head coach. “We believe that we have the right numbers and the right guys that work hard every day, that will make us competitive,” said Gross. “We will have some new faces in new positions that we are very excited about. We are looking forward to seeing what the fall holds for the new Hugo Buffaloes.” Six players on offense return to the starting lineup from last season including La’Marcus Davis (6-0, 165, So.) who managed 600 totals yards of offense and six touchdowns as a freshman. Davis is an exciting player, as is Landon Lemmons (6-2, 180, Jr.) at quarterback. Lemmons had 500 totals yards and seven scores. The offensive line is shaping up nicely with Noah Joe (6-3, 260, Jr.) at left tackle, Caleb Joe (6-2, 230, Jr.) at right tackle and Kameron Allred (6-1, 220, Sr.) at center. Allred is the “Commander” you want at the center position. Look for the Buffaloes to run a spread offense, getting the ball to the playmakers in space. “We are blessed with some gifted athletes and plan on using their talents in every way possible,” said Gross.

DEFENSE

With only three starters back on defense the Buffaloes will look to a few underclassmen to shore up certain positions. Davis returns to strong safety where he accounted for 44 tackles and three interceptions. Ashton Barnett (5-11, 185, Sr.) will start at linebacker where he made 36 tackles, two sacks and added one interception. Aden Parish (6-2, 230, Jr.) will join Barnett at linebacker whereas a sophomore he made 40 tackles, five sacks and recorded 11 tackles for loss. Parish will also be a factor on offense. G’Maryion Wallace (6-3, 245, Sr.) is a rangy defensive end who loves harassing quarterbacks. Amarion Maytubby (5-10, 160, Jr.) will join Davis in the secondary and start at free safety. Finding corner and interior defensive linemen is the priority. Look for the Buffaloes to base in a 3-4 and bring pressure from multiple positions.
