“Being an underdog fuels my fire,” De’Koryian shared. “I was always an underdog. I don’t know why, I always had talent, just overlooked.”
His journey has been shaped by the encouragement of his role model, Ray Lewis, who instilled in him the tenacity to hit hard in football and never cower in the face of adversity. Reflecting on his influences, De’Koryian credits Mrs. Bailey Cody from middle school for her unwavering support: “She never let me move on to the next lesson until I had the last one down.”

One defining moment crystallizes his perseverance – a pivotal play where he picked up the running back and tackled him for a game-changing fumble. This play stands as the highlight of his career, symbolizing his resilience and impact on the game.
When asked about opponents, De’Koryian admits, “I enjoy beating the Valliant Bulldogs because they think they can stop us every year.”
In practice, he values the competition with teammate Fuzz, recognizing the necessity to work hard every single rep.
De’Koryian’s commitment extends beyond the field, participating in show choir and remaining focused on a future in college football. He understands the significance of representing his school and community: “It means a lot, and I love representing my school.”
