Hartshorne Cheer Team Preview – Presented by Josh Hass Insurance

As autumn is in full swing, basketball season is upon us. The heartbeat of any small town is echoed through the anticipation of the football and upcoming basketball seasons, but at the heart of the fervor is the Hartshorne Miners Cheer Squad, led by the spirited Head Coach Desire Burke.

At the heart of the squad shines Ella Burke, a senior and the undeniable MVP. Ella isn’t just a cheerleader; she is a beacon of leadership, offering a wealth of knowledge and advice to her teammates. Recently selected for the prestigious Oklahoma All-State Cheer team, Ella embodies the essence of what it meant to be a Miner. She is also aided fellow seniors—Olivia Jones, Lily Sartin, and McKinney Ziverk—the squad found inspiration in their unity.

The summer was a crucible for the cheer squad. J&C Camp in Norman, Oklahoma, became the forge where the squad’s spirit was created. The camp was more than a training ground; it was an opportunity for the team to bond, building a foundation that would support them through the highs and lows of the upcoming seasons. Team bonding became the secret ingredient that transformed a group of individuals into a tight-knit family.

As the end of summer approached, the real work began. Tamara Roberts, a critical force behind the squad’s preparation, orchestrated countless hours of practice. Under her guidance, the cheerleaders honed their skills, learned new techniques and prepared for the challenges ahead. Tamara’s influence wasn’t just about routines; it was about instilling a sense of discipline and pride that would define the Miners’ cheerleading spirit. Burke spoke passionately about the squad’s objectives. Beyond the routines and cheers, their primary goal is clear—to infuse every athlete, faculty member, and fan with a contagious sense of school spirit and positivity. It was a mission that went beyond the sidelines; it was about creating an atmosphere of unwavering support for the entire Miner community.

Amidst the excitement of the upcoming seasons, the mention of Wilburton sparked a special notion for the Miners. Wilburton games aren’t just matchups; they are battles that fuel the cheerleaders’ passion. “We can’t wait to cheer our boys’ and girls’ basketball on into the playoff season!” Burke said.

The Hartshorne Cheer team has a bright future, full of dedicated spirit leaders and a dedication to cheering on the Miners!
