“Graduation hurt us with the loss of lot of seniors so we will be young and short on experience but athletic this year,” said Miners head coach Jim Curliss. Payton Battle will be the focus of attention this year with his 6-6 frame being a dominating force inside for Hartshorne. “He can play inside or outside and has a chance to play at the next level,” said Curliss.
Leadership is expected to come from senior Jaxon Rizor who has grown by leaps and bounds over the summer according to Curliss. Other players that will battle for starting positions this year include Zac Harrison, Cylas Baker, and Jacob Keith. The Miners will need to rely on underclassmen to provide some needed depth and hope that the team matures rapidly as the season progresses
