Carter Lance is a force to be reckoned with on the football field. As a senior at McAlester High School, his journey has been nothing short of remarkable, and he’s set his sights on a promising future.
Throughout his football career, Carter found a guiding light in Coach Burgess, who made a significant impact on his life. “He has helped me through a lot with football and my life outside of football, and even after he transferred to another school to coach, our relationship is still strong,” Carter said.
Carter has been fortunate to have the unwavering support of his teammates, and one stood out for him. “One past teammate I look up to in particular is probably Erik McCarty; he’s living out my dreams of playing D1 football, and his leadership skills were good,” Carter shared.
To prepare for the upcoming season, Carter devoted himself to extensive training, attending camps to enhance his skills and gain recognition from college scouts.
Football has been a valuable teacher in Carter’s life, instilling the principles of strength, determination and respect. “t’s taught me to be strong and attack my problems headfirst,” he said. “It taught me that anything I dream and imagine is attainable if I work towards it.” Carter’s favorite memory in sports revolves around making it to the state championship in football for two consecutive years.
As he approaches his senior year, Carter has set high goals for himself and his team. “My
goals as a team are to go win state; we’ve been there two years in a row,” he said. “It’s time
for us to go win one now. My personal goals are to do whatever I can to help the team win and hopefully get the opportunity to play at the collegiate level.”
After high school, Carter plans to pursue a college football career and major in physical therapy while minoring in business. His long-term vision includes owning his own physical therapy practice.
Carter Lance is not just a rising star in football; he’s a young man with a vision and the dedication to achieve it.
