Quinton’s Tannah Davison – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by BancFirst McAlester

The DNA of athletes, especially the good ones includes something special that sets them apart from the rest. And while physical talents can often be an advantage, the ability to go from good to great can be driven by desire and motivation, self-confidence with a vision of optimism and a positive mind set. These traits are only a few of those used to describe Tannah Davison, a sophomore at Quinton High School.

“Tannah is willing to do whatever and play wherever to help her team have success,” said Lady Savages head coach Lisa Hilburn when defining the efforts of Davison. “At the plate or in the field as well as when she’s away from the game, she welcomes every challenge with optimism and confidence.”

The coach’s comments echo the desires of Davison to make a difference every day.

“I’m an outgoing and caring person who wants to help everyone find their dreams,” said Davison. “Whatever I’m doing, my passion for success fuels my every thought and effort.”

Among the multiple positions in the softball lineup for Davison, her favorite is the opportunity to play third base.

“It’s the hot corner,” replied Davison. “Line drives off the bat force you to always be ready.”

Equal to the demands of playing softball is the opportunity to find success in the classroom where Davison maintains a 4.0 GPA and ranks number-1 in her class earning her a spot on the Superintendent’s honor roll, Student Council membership along with taking a lead role with Yearbook, Gifted and Talented and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. A gifted musician, Davison was also chosen as Band Queen this year.

“I love music and everything associated with it.”

With two years remaining in high school, Tannah already has a crystal clear view of her future including plans to attend Arizona State University and pursue a degree in graphic design.

“My approach to every day is to never give up on your dreams. Anything is possible if you’re willing to work hard. Don’t hide your passion for success, share it.”
