Coach: Darrick Farriel
21-22 Record: 19-10
The Eagles begin the season riding the wings of four starting guards including the top two scorers from last year’s 19-win campaign as veteran coach Darrick Farriell takes the lead chair on the Red Oak bench. Denver Hamilton (6-1, G/F, Sr.) who tallied 13.4 points per game and Reed Kauk (6-1, G, So.) who averaged 12.9 points combined to lead the point parade for the Eagles up-tempo style of play a year ago.
The proven pair will reunite with defensive specialist Tanner King (5-10, G/F, Jr.) and point guard Reese Allen (5-9, G, Jr.) as the foundation of experience in 2022-23. “Denver and Reed can score in a variety of ways while Tanner can defend any player we face and Reese uses his court vision to deliver the ball to teammates as well as scoring off the dribble or behind the arc,” said Farriell, who begins his first season at Red Oak. Adam Fenton (6-6, F, So.), a new member to the Eagles roster gives the team size and the ability to protect the rim with his length. Farriell’s expectation for hard work will reward other players with game time action for their efforts including Asher Kauk (6-0, G, Sr.), Casen Hood (5-10, G, Sr.), Isaiah The Boy (5-10, G/F, Sr.) and Trevor Lyons (6-2, P, Sr.) plus Dillon Bates (5-11, G, Jr.), Jalen Nix (5-9, G, So.), Bradley Truitt (6-2, C, So.), Chance Turner (5-10, G, So.), Grayson Colbert (5-10, G/F, So.), Branden Allen (5-7, G, Fr.) and Roper Lovell (5-10, G, Fr.).
