Stuart’s Miley Davis FFA Spotlight Presented by Oklahoma AgCredit

Stuart High School softball player and FFA chapter member Miley Davis is enjoying her first year of high school.

“I do lots of different activities with Stuart FFA. I show livestock, I do openings closing ceremonies and lastly, I do livestock judging. I first got introduced to FFA in the eighth grade,” said Davis.

It was a teacher and a family member who encouraged her to join FFA, and Davis admits it was a great decision.

“My AG teacher Mr. Rosenow and my dad Wade Davis encouraged me to be involved in FFA. I mostly enjoy the opportunities and knowledge that FFA provides for young kids.

Being in FFA has taught me leadership, kindness, empathy, respect and more. FFA has also brought me many new friendships and many different experiences,” said Davis.

The freshman does show hogs and said anyone interested in FFA, whether you show livestock or not, should give it a try.

“My advice for someone who is interested in FFA whether it be showing livestock, getting into judging, becoming an officer, or just wanting to learn more about the organization is that you will not regret it. FFA will teach you stuff you never thought it would. FFA makes a positive long-term difference in my life, and it will for you too,” said Davis.

As for the softball team, Davis said she loves being part of the team.
“Softball with this school has also taught me lots of responsibility that I have carried with me since sixth grade. I love the hustle, grit and determination they have for the game of softball. They love the game but at the same time we love each other. We lift each other up and play like a team,” said Davis.

One person who has always been there to help and support her efforts is her father. “My biggest influence in my life is my dad, ever since I was a little girl I’ve heard about my grandpa. He was big in FFA, and I remember my dad telling me my grandpa would be proud of me for taking FFA seriously. That has truly influenced me to love this organization and everything about it. My dad is a very hard-working man, he gets up every morning around 4:00am to go travel the world to sale cattle. I look up to my dad and he truly is my biggest influence,” said Davis.
The future Class of 2027 graduate said she plans to get her cosmetology license and esthetician license after high school.
