Whitesboro’s Ty Culley – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma Ag Credit

Whitesboro High School junior Ty Culley is gearing up for basketball season with the Bulldogs and next semester Culley will trade in his gym shoes for cleats and suit up for the baseball team. But one team he plays for all year is the FFA chapter at school.

Culley first joined the FFA when he was in the eighth grade thanks to some encouragement from friends and family.

“My dad is our Ag teacher and probably my biggest reason for why I got involved in FFA,” said Culley.

As a member of the chapter at Whitesboro, Culley said he’s enjoyed all of the activities the program has to offer as well as meeting new people.

“I’ve made so many friends through FFA,” said Culley. “I work in the shop, I am on the forestry team, and I am our chapter’s Sentinel. I used to show pigs and sheep.”

Culley said his brother Corben has been a big influence in his life and he encourages everyone to give FFA a try.

“Just do it. It might be a little scary at the start, but once you figure it out, you’ll be glad you did,” said Culley. “My brother Corben has always pushed me to be the best I can be in sports and in FFA.” Culley plans to either join the United States Marine Corps or go into ranching once he graduates high school.
