Wilburton’s Madison Littlejohn – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Jim Jeffreys Shelter Insurance

Outstanding Wilburton High School student Madison Littlejohn personifies commitment in the classroom and on the cheerleading mat. Her path is a reflection of her dedication to success in all facets of her life, in addition to her passion for cheerleading.

From a young age, Madison was captivated by the energy and enthusiasm of high school cheerleaders. “When I was an elementary cheerleader, I looked up to the high school cheerleaders who put on our cheer camps.” Inspired by their ability to rally the crowd, Madison knew she wanted to follow in their footsteps, making them her role models.

Balancing academics and athletics are no easy feat, yet Madison manages to excel in both realms. Maintaining straight A’s and graduating as Co-Valedictorian of her class speaks volumes about her dedication to academic success alongside her cheerleading commitments.

A defining moment in Madison’s cheerleading career came during a challenging competition season. Despite initial setbacks, Madison and her team delivered a stellar performance marked by precision and passion: “Our team came together in that moment, and I’m so thankful I got to have my last competition with this team.”

Transitioning from a base to a flyer posed a significant challenge for Madison. However, with determination and trust in her teammates, she overcame her fears and excelled in her new role. “Learning to trust your teammates and especially your stunt group helped me overcome that fear, and now I love it.”

Madison’s pre-game ritual involves a moment of reflection and prayer, grounding her before the excitement of competition. She credits her coaches, including Mrs. Brittany Grossnicklaus, Mrs. Hale, and Lizzie Jeffery, for their unwavering support and mentorship. “Watching her coach these girls has helped me learn so much and grow my coaching abilities.”

Looking ahead, Madison plans to pursue a career as an ultrasound technician while continuing her passion for cheerleading in college. Her dedication, both on and off the mat, serves as an inspiration for aspiring cheerleaders, embodying the values of leadership, perseverance and teamwork.
