Broken Bow High School senior Alicea Noah participates in student council, serves as vice president of History Club and captains the Savages varsity academic team.
She’s a savant when it comes to buzzing in to answer history-related questions. She plans to major in history in college. Noah plans to attend Arkansas University, where she has received the presidential distinguished scholarship.
“[Coach Rebekah] Clowers inspired me to take up academic team, and Mrs. [Wanda] Wood inspired me to do student council and history club,” Noah says. “They pushed me to be the best that I could be.”
Participating in quiz bowl gives Noah, who will graduate within the top 10% of her senior class, an opportunity to compete for her school.
“I have the most fun during lightning rounds. I love how fast it is, especially if it’s a subject I
know a lot about,” Noah said. “One of my favorite memories from academic team is riding to all of the meets. We have Disney sing-alongs.”
Self-described as an “avid member” of her school and community, Noah considers Broken Bow a unique town.
“Since the town is small, our school is as well,” Noah said. “So we are able to create a stronger bond as a community and school.”
