Head coach – Scott Pratt
2021: 4-6
There’s nothing strange about the Warriors version of the “odd-stack” defensive alignment as Idabel remains big, strong and physical on the defensive front as well as explosive and fast to the fall from the linebacker and secondary positions as seven starters return to their positions on the field. Raydon McCullough and Trevor Smith, who each charted 40-plus tackles in the trenches will demand double-team attention from opponents while Case Pratt returns for his third year at linebacker where he totaled 110 tackles protecting boundary to boundary against the run or pass. Jalein Wright (5-9, 150, Sr.) and Payden Jefferson offer lockdown coverage in the secondary at cornerback allowing safeties Raydale Larry, Waylon Phillips and Martrail Lopez, who started as a freshman in 2021 to roam free to create turnovers against the run or pass. While the coaches and player are focused on the game details resulting in victories each week, Idabel fans will have to wait until game three when the Warriors will christen their new stadium on September 16th against Ashdown AR as the first of a three-game homestand.
