Valliant’s Addisyn Garrett – Track Spotlight – Presented by Pine Cellular

Addisyn Garrett is a junior at Valliant High School who excels in track, basketball, cheerleading and cross-country running.

Driven by her passion for the game, Addisyn thrives in competitive environments and eagerly embraces new challenges. “I am driven by the love of the game,” she said, reflecting her unwavering passion for sports.

When it comes to role models, Addisyn looks no further than her father, whose unwavering support and guidance have been instrumental in her journey. “Whether in basketball, cheer, track or the occasional pageant, he consistently encourages me to strive for excellence,” she acknowledged, expressing gratitude for his consistent encouragement towards excellence in various aspects of her life.

In the academic realm, Mrs. Autumn Whitby stands out as a special educator for Addisyn. “Mrs. Whitby has impacted my life by being a role model for what a teacher should be,” she said, recognizing her teacher’s dedication to both academic rigor and emotional support.

Success in sports, according to Addisyn, requires unwavering dedication and a strict schedule to balance academic excellence and high performance. “It takes dedication. There are early morning practices for basketball and track, late nights in the gym for cheer and weekend and summer practices, games and competitions.”

Looking ahead, Addisyn sets her sights on overcoming formidable opponents like Wright City, fueled by her belief in her team’s growth and potential. “The opponent I would like to beat the most is Wright City,” she said, demonstrating her competitive spirit and determination.

In practice, Addisyn finds valuable competition and camaraderie with teammate Tayler Trapp, highlighting their mutual drive for excellence and support for each other’s growth.

Acknowledging the often-overlooked contributions of teammate Raven Wheeler, Addisyn emphasizes her teammate’s tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to the team’s success.

Beyond sports, Addisyn’s involvement in the National Honor Society and Spanish Club reflects her dedication to academic and extracurricular excellence.

With aspirations of becoming a dentist, Addisyn plans to pursue higher education after high school, setting her sights on a bright future beyond the court and track.

As she represents Valliant High School and her community, Addisyn remains steadfast in her commitment to giving her all and embodying the spirit of a true Bulldog.
