Jaxson Beene, a senior at Valliant High School, embodies the essence of an all-around athlete and exceptional student.
From a young age, Jaxson’s love for baseball was evident. “I’m very competitive, so the competition definitely motivates me,” he said, recalling the countless hours spent honing his skills on the diamond. But his motivation runs deeper than just winning games; it’s about representing his school, his community and his family with pride. “Playing every game, battling each pitch to use what I’ve worked for to win.”
As he navigated through high school, Jaxson found inspiration in various figures. “One of my biggest influences in baseball has been Derek Jeter,” he reflected, admiring not just Jeter’s on-field prowess but also his leadership qualities and sportsmanship. However, it’s his Papa who remains his ultimate role model. “He taught me the true value of Godly morals and standards of life.”
Guidance and coaching played pivotal roles in Jaxson’s athletic journey. “My childhood coach Shawn Dorries saw the potential in me. He helped me learn to play the game the right way at an early age.”
Jaxson’s success isn’t just about natural talent; it’s about the relentless dedication and faith that underpin his efforts. “I would not be successful on the game of Baseball or life in general without Jesus Christ being first in my life,” he said, attributing his achievements to his faith and unwavering determination. “It’s about thousands of hours of practice and a drive to be the best, always finding a way!”
Among his cherished memories is pitching a no-hitter against the Cascia Hall Varsity Commandos, a nod to his skill and composure under pressure. His five innings, with only 65 pitches and an impressive 44 strikes, led to a run-ruled victory of 12-0. Yet, it’s not just about personal milestones; it’s about the camaraderie with teammates like Brody Dorries and the admiration for young talents like Ayden Fowler.
Balancing sports and academics, Jaxson excels in the classroom as much as on the field. His academic achievements, including being one of his class valedictorians with a 4.3 GPA, reflect his commitment to excellence across all facets of life.
Looking toward the future, Jaxson plans to pursue a degree in wildlife biology while continuing his baseball journey. But amidst his aspirations, he remains grounded, grateful for the opportunities and support that have shaped his high school years. “I just love to play and represent my school, community and the people that have believed in me and helped me succeed in getting where I am today.”
