George Maddox is a senior at Ada High School where he plays football and basketball. Through sports, mainly football, he has learned to put his head down and just work at something even if you don’t see immediate results.
“I’m passionate about football because it’s the ultimate team sport where everyone has to be on the same page to succeed,” he laughs saying, “It also doesn’t hurt that you are legally allowed hurt people and will be rewarded for it.”
George looks up to former professional football player and Oklahoma native, Dan Cody.
“I workout with him often and he has helped me get my body to the next level and
also given my mind the ability to make my body push through when it wants to shut down. “Dan Cody once told me you gotta be great at all times and work harder than anyone when nobody is watching and he’s shown me how to do that,” said George.
His mom and grandpa inspire him the most because “they are the definition of hard work.” George is thankful for the many sacrifices his mom has made for him.
His favorite meal will always be his dads steak and salad with fruit. Not just because it is good, but for all the family memories made eating it.
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Hawley. She made science fun and kept class
interesting.
George would enjoy a summer vacation at a resort in Mexico.
“I’m bringing my brother and the boys so we can kick back and enjoy ourselves,”
he says. George may have to plan that vacation for next summer as a new season is about to kick off.
“I enjoy having a whole community’s support on friday nights and seeing them go
crazy in the stands,” he said.
