Coach: Aaron George
21-22 Record: 8-15
Bolstered by a more experienced roster, the Lions have high hopes for the 2022-23 basketball season as Aaron George enters his eighth season as head coach. Five seniors and a pair of juniors will provide the foundation for winning this year. Darren Diggs (6-1, F, Sr) brings a do whatever it takes approach to the floor along with Brian Freeman (6-0, F, Sr.) and Hunter Wall (6-0, F, Sr.) to join efforts with Marshall Hatch (5-10, G, Sr.) while Jacob Ingrum (6-3, F, Sr.) gives some size to the Lions front line on both ends of the court. Jaylon Saxon (5-10, G, Jr.) and Braylen Lyday (5-10, G, Jr.) will help to solidify ball control at guards along with Ryder Jones (5-10, G, So.) who George notes has a lot of basketball savvy and leadership. The Lions will also count upon XaDavien Sims (6-3, F, Jr.), Callaway Nabors (6-2, F, So.) and Kolton Mason (5-10, G, So.) along with Nate Rudolf (5-10, G, So.), Brady Thomann (5-8, G, So.) Mason Shults (5-10, G, So.), Landon Ringels (6-5, F, So.) for added depth and productivity.
“We may be a little undersized defensively but we’ll be good helping each other while on the offensive end of the floor, our experience empowers us to be more aggressive,” explained George. “We’ll find our groove as soon as everyone gets healthy.”
